Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA): In 2005, Ontario passed the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) that charged the Ministry of Community and Social Services with the goal of making Ontario completely accessible to persons with disabilities by the year 2025.
Customer Service Accessibility:
Jaywil Software employees will consider any person’s disability when providing sales and support.
Assistive devices: We will ensure that our staff are trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by customers with disabilities while accessing our goods or services.
Communication: We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability.
e.g. Live Chat is available for support or sales questions when someone is hearing impaired.
Phone support is available for the visually impaired.
Product is shipped as ordered therefore customers are not required to come to the office.
All training is available online or with videos and special arrangements can be made for a script of the training for those with auditory limitations.
Notice of Temporary disruption: In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities, Jaywil Software Development Inc. will notify customers promptly. This clearly posted notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, it’s anticipated length of time and a description of alternative facilities or services if available.
Customers will be advised via our website when accessible services are not available.
Service Animals: We welcome people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public.
Support Persons: A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them on our premises.
Feedback Process: Customers who wish to provide feedback on the way Jaywil Software Development Inc provides goods and services to people with disabilities can provide feedback to our staff by phone, live chat, email and regular mail.
For Staff Accessibility:
Assistive devices will be allowed in the workplace. (ex. a wheelchair or oxygen tank)
Service animals and support persons are allowed to accompany employee’s .
Staff Training
Jaywil Software Development Inc will provide training to employees, volunteers and others who deal with the public or other third parties on their behalf.
This training will be provided to staff within the first three months of being hired.
Training will include:
An overview of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the requirements of the customer service standard
Jaywil Software Development Inc’s accessible customer service plan
How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities
How to interact with people with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a service animal or a support person
What to do if a person with a disability is having difficulty in accessing Jaywil Software Development Inc’s goods and services
Staff will be trained when changes are made to your accessible customer service plan.
Staff will be advised of the company’s plan to comply with AODA
