Web OPAC Successful Migration & Training Webinar Dates

On March 28, 2020 we successfully completed the migration from the old Web OPAC to the new Web OPAC.

The most significant change will be faster search results. We know that this will be a welcome improvement for both you and your patrons.

Key Points

Patron Sign In
If your site allows Patrons to Sign In, you will have to ensure that the Patron record in ResourceMate has the necessary information recorded. The only field that can be used to log in is the Username field. Previously, you could log in using Bar code or email or username. Now only Username is used.

Note: that there are updated utilities in ResourceMate to assign Username (if it is not already assigned) email or bar code or Last name/First name combinations. Username has to be unique and if two patrons somehow have the same Username, only the first one found will be logged in.

Also remember, if you have Daily Update, your patron data on Web OPAC will only be refreshed once a day, so any changes to patron data will not be reflected until that time.

Preference for Not Requiring Patron PINs for Sign In
There was a preference in the old Web OPAC to indicate if you wanted your Patrons to enter a PIN for Sign In. Unfortunately, this preference was NOT transferred. So everyone has this setting turned off so that PINs are required. This setting is located in the Patron section of Library Setup.
